The drama stays outside.
Your ECU stays factory.

FlameLink creates the effect downstream in the exhaust with its own controller, fuel and spark. It never asks your engine to do something it was not designed to do.

Tune vs. FlameLink

β€œCan’t I just get a tune?”

βœ• Risky

A flame tune

The hard way
  • Reflashes your ECU and leans on fuel-dumping and timing tricks
  • Pumps extra heat and stress into an engine that wasn’t built for it
  • Puts your reliability, your warranty and your resale on the line
  • Pricey β€” and not something you undo on a whim
Recommended

FlameLink

The smart way
  • Standalone β€” bolts on, never touches your ECU or engine
  • Creates the effect downstream while your engine stays on its factory calibration
  • No ECU reflash to reverse when you want the car back to stock
  • From $499, tuned from your phone, flames whenever you call for them
Questions

Before you ask.

Will it hurt my engine or reliability?

FlameLink does not make flames by changing engine timing, fueling or the factory calibration. It works downstream in the exhaust with its own controller, fuel and spark. As with any aftermarket system, correct professional installation and responsible use matter.

Do I need an ECU flash or a tune?

No. FlameLink does not reflash, control or change your ECU calibration. FlameLink Pro only reads the vehicle signals it needs for automatic lift-off triggering; the flame system still runs on its own controller, fuel and spark.

Why not just get a flame tune instead?

A flame tune creates the effect through the engine by adding fuel and retarding timing. FlameLink creates it downstream instead, so there is no ECU reflash or engine-calibration change to reverse. Same show, without asking the engine to make it.

Is it safe?

Real fire is inherently risky, so FlameLink is for show, off-road and private-property use only. The system adds hard burn-time limits, a hardware watchdog, fused power and a sealed fuel feed. Professional installation and the supplied safety instructions are essential.

What fuel does it use?

A small, sealed gasoline feed. The lines stay closed β€” nothing leaks, drips or pools, on a hot exhaust or anywhere else.

How does the fuel system work?

FlameLink runs on its own dedicated pressurized fuel system β€” regulated fuel pressure and an atomizing nozzle β€” independent from your engine's fuel system. It's built for short-duration injection events, not continuous flow: a minimum of roughly 0.9 mL per activation, about 1.9 mL per second, and a full 3-second activation uses only ~5.6 mL of fuel.

Will it flame on its own, or catch fire?

Only when you fire it β€” the flame button on FlameLink, a lift-off or downshift on FlameLink Pro, or the app. Parked with the engine off it's completely inert; there's no open flame sitting there waiting.

How does FlameLink know when it's safe to fire?

It depends on the model. FlameLink Pro reads live vehicle data β€” RPM, gear, vehicle speed, engine & coolant temperature and battery voltage β€” over the CAN bus to gate flame operation, firing automatically on lift-off and downshift. On FlameLink the button fires it, so you're responsible for when it flames β€” but either way the flames need exhaust gas to be driven, so you've got to be on the throttle.

Should I use it in short bursts, or can I hold it?

Use short bursts with breaks in between. Heat builds with every repeated operation, so running it back-to-back can build serious heat in the exhaust tip and surrounding panels β€” enough to potentially damage paint or anything else near the flame. Burst, let it cool, burst again. Fire is fire.

Will it affect my catalytic converter or exhaust?

No. The flames happen at the tail end of the car or motorbike, well behind the catalytic converters and other exhaust components. Installation only modifies the far rear end of the exhaust to mount the kit, so everything upstream β€” cats, resonators, muffler β€” stays untouched.

Which cars does it fit?

FlameLink is designed for 12V cars and is not tied to one engine platform. The standard kit fires from a momentary flame button on your dash. Driving a BMW F & G Series? FlameLink Pro reads vehicle signals through a plug-in harness and fires automatically on lift-off. We confirm exact fitment before you pay.

What's the difference between FlameLink and FlameLink Pro?

The flames are identical β€” same controller, same safeguards, same app. The difference is the trigger. FlameLink ($499) puts a flame button on your dash: you press, it breathes fire, on a compatible 12V car. FlameLink Pro ($650) is engineered for BMW F & G Series β€” a plug-in harness reads the car, so flames fire themselves on lift-off and downshift. No button, no thought, just fire.

Can I control how big the flames are?

Yes. Tune flame size, intensity and crackle from the app, save your setups and switch on the fly β€” from a subtle daily crackle to full send.

Is it legal?

Off-road and show use only. A flame kit may be illegal on public roads where you live β€” check your local laws and run it responsibly.

How is it installed?

A competent professional should install the system and verify the fuel feed before use. It ships with the harness and installation guide for your installer. Professional installation by our team is $150 where available β€” add it when you configure your kit.
